100% Sustainable & Organic Certified: 2021 Blancjat Glera IGT Venezia Giulia Frizzante Unfiltered Prosecco

Have you heard the buzz? Or, spotted those trendy natural wine bars springing up everywhere?

These organic, sustainable, low-intervention wines are all the rage right now. They're the talk of the town and a must-try for adventurous wine lovers. What makes them unique? They're low in alcohol, have no additives, and are more pure. But here's the catch: many of them show winemaking flaws, so finding a real gem can be tricky. Turns out a lot of the “clean” wines aren’t so clean.

After trying thousands of these wines, most turned out to be disappointing with pretty labels. Some are downright flawed winemaking (think red wine vinegar/acetic acid smell) and some are an abomination to fine wine. We were almost ready to give up until we stumbled upon the 2021 Blancjat Glera IGT Venezia Giulia Frizzante Unfiltered Prosecco. And let me tell you, it completely surprised us. This wine defied our expectations and showed us why these wines are SO GOOD. We actually mistakenly thought it was a 1er Champagne in a blind tasting…

Now, if you're a fan of Prosecco, listen up. We love celebrating with bubbles during the holidays, but we don't like added sugars and feeling bloated. That's where this wine comes in. It's made using the "ancestral method," which means fewer bubbles and absolutely no added sugars. Plus, it's only 11% alcohol, so it's great for easy sipping. This wine is bottled unfiltered, so it has  some sediment, giving it a natural cloudy and delicious quality.

James Suckling describes the result of Col Fondo as "cloudy and creamy, with a dry and exotic complexity." Lea Winery, producer of this exotic wine, has a bold vision: to become Italy's finest producer of natural wines. They’re achieving that and have already earned numerous accolades and multiple 90+ scores along the way.
