Unlike Pinot Noir–which doesn't perform as well with warmer weather–Gamay has adapted remarkably well to the rising temperatures. The added power and concentration mean that grapes from the top Cru's of Morgon and Moulin-a-Vent have a greater chance of standing the test of time while retaining their youthful pleasure.
That's right, Moulin-a-Vent is one of Beaujolais best Cru's. Nicknamed, "the Lord of Beaujolais," wines from Moulin-a-Vent are long-lived, expressive, and powerful. The wines of Moulin-a-Vent (which means 'windmill' in french) resemble the historical windmill that overlooks the vineyards of this prestigious cru. They're strong, age-worthy, beauties that are downright enjoyable!
