Every time a wine lover thinks of Argentinian wine, Malbec is the first grape that comes to mind. This is no coincidence, this country–named by James Suckling as "One of the world's most exciting wine-growing countries"–has been shining for its magnificent, spectacular, and unique Malbec masterpieces.
Today’s offer perfectly illustrates one of these masterpieces. Please welcome the 2019 Zuccardi Poligonos Malbec from San Pablo.
After reading James Suckling's opinion about this wine, acknowledging that it's "so balanced and refined with complexity", or Robert Parker affirming that "it’s precise, chiseled and delineated”, or the compliments from Vinous Media declaring that it's “an exercise in purity”, I couldn't stop thinking about it. But jubilation didn't kick in until after I tasted it and experienced the same feelings as all the highly renowned critics. Only then did it become one of my favorite Malbecs ever (and I’m sure it’ll become yours too!)
Another thing that struck me about this wine is the price, I can ensure you that the quality of the wine doesn't match the price, because, for less than $27/bottle, you'll be tasting a five-star Malbec, from “The Best Winery in the World” (according to William Reed Business Media). A wine crafted by the winemaking sensation, Sebastian Zuccardi, which comes from an exceptional 96 point Vintage. It doesn’t get any better than this!
This fresh, smooth, delicious Malbec is the perfect wine for foodies. If you enjoy traditional Argentinian dishes, this wine is a winner. Pair it with the classic meat or vegetable empanadas, choripanes (a type of hot dog with Argentinian chorizo), or Asado (grilled meat).
